SHERIDAN TERRACE One hundred eighty three units of dilapidated public housing were demolished on the Sheridan Terrace site in 1997. In 2005, the District of Columbia Housing Authority (DCHA) selected William C. Smith + Co. through a competitive process to redevelop the 9.8 acre site. Working with residents living in the surrounding community, former residents of Sheridan Terrace, and DCHA, the group conducted a community planning process to develop a plan to build 344 units of new construction, mixed income housing on the site. The project is in the design phase and has PUD approval. Construction will begin in late 2009.
