ORCHARD PARK

Orchard Park is a 100% project-based Section 8 rental property located on 22nd Street in Southeast Washington. WCS Development, in partnership with the East of the River Community Development Corporation, undertook a complete renovation of the 257 units in 2007. With all residents remaining on the site throughout construction, every residence received new kitchens, bathrooms, windows, roofs, and energy-efficient HVAC. The property was fully landscaped to include exterior lighting and decorative wrought iron fencing.

The $27.3 million renovation included $5.8 million in DC Department of Housing and Community Development acquisition financing and LIHTC and tax-exempt bond financing from the DC Housing Finance Agency.
