THEARC William C. Smith + Co. formed a non-profit organization, Building Bridges Across the River, to fundraise for the development of the Town Hall Education Arts and Recreation Campus (THEARC). Today THEARC consists of a two-building campus on 16.5 acres of land in Oxon Run. THEARC is within walking distance of two Metro stops (Southern Avenue and Congress Heights). The campus currently houses The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, Covenant House Washington, Children’s Health Project of DC, Corcoran Gallery of Art, Hadley’s Park, Levine School of Music, Parklands Community Center, Trinity University Adult Learning, Washington Ballet, Washington Middle School for Girls, and Washington School of Psychiatry - all providing services to the children and families in the Villages of Parklands and beyond.
